New walks An entrancing meander through this 18th century village overlooking London, tracing its history from London’s last glacier to the tomb of Karl Marx. En route, Roger Bacon invents frozen chicken, Coleridge surreptitiously tops up his opium supply and young Mary Kingsley blows up the family washing. Architectural delights range from Georgian gems to Modern Movement icons, interspersed with splendid views of the City. The terrain is hilly – a bracing walk in every sense. A revised version of South Mayfair is now available. Other revisions are in preparation. Purchasing walks A few bookshops and other outlets are now stocking some Footnotes Audio Walks. Christine Hardyment, The Times 'Beautifully written walks that will be much more appealing to bona fide Londoners than those of tourist-centric sites. There’s a heavy focus on architecture and a naughty sense of adventure … The walks are well produced, commentary is excellent and the choice of routes is the most extensive available.' The Londonist.com We look forward to receiving feedback from walkers and will incorporate any of your comments that we think will improve the original recordings when we revise them. Do email us.
