Written by Sophie Huxley, this is the first themed Footnotes Audio Walk outside London. It presents scientific acheivement in Oxford in a way that will be of interest to academics, students and lay people alike. The route takes in many of the most beautiful buildings and gardens in the city.

Entrance to Christchurch Meadow is by a turnstile; the vehicle gates are usually locked.
Route:
An annotated map is provided with recordings and we advise you to take it with you on your walk.
Special notes:
  • There are several museums on this route. All opening times are supplied with the recording.
  • Note that the Ashmolean and Museum of the History of Science are closed on Mondays.
  • As a general rule, early afternoon is the best time to catch colleges open to visitors
